Almost at the Ontario-Manitoba border, so time for a post. What a beauty of a province—both landscape and people. As I type, I am listening to Ken talk to two of the Sanders brothers—friends from childhood. We’re at a cottage of another of the brothers—so thank you, Sanders family. Lovely to be nestled in the forest here, overlooking Lake of the Woods.

Our travels thus far have been remarkable for the kindness of others, from being hosted by a friend’s brother at Rossport, a

gorgeous little fishing village, to hanging out with friends James and Caite (and their very clever daughter Mairin) in Thunder Bay.

Haven’t won at Scrabble yet. Nor at horseshoes. But seeing these two together at James’s paint shop was a victory in itself

As was seeing views like these…
